Hi. I'm Jeff, and I've been an avid lover of beer for years and years. From the first time I tried Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, I began a journey that led to enjoying beer from top to bottom. I live in San Diego, arguably the beer capital of the country. Certainly in the top 3 or 4 of cities that have impacted US craft beer.
Around 1999, I began home brewing (brewing since the 1900's!), and this led to an all new obsession with beer. What started with a simple extract kit in my kitchen led to brewing with all grain ingredients. Which led to getting together with friends and sampling our beers together, reading every piece of literature I could get my hands on, helping build brewery set ups for homes, and starting a barrel project. It all accumulated to the logical step of becoming a professional brewer in the city that I love. Covid and lifestyle changes curbed that, but life's road stays interesting, and that's no different today than it's been every twist and turn of the way.
Needless to say, that's a lot of beer drinking listed above. These days, I'm enjoying non alcoholic beer. Especially of late, the game of NA is stepping up in this world. Where once only a handful of non alcoholic beers were available, now it seems there's a new one every time I go to a store. It's the new sour... er, new hazy... er, new what's next. Whatever it is, I'm here to give my two cents on what I think of the variety that I get my hands on and try out. I hope you enjoy this blog, and find value in it.
The craft is ever changing, just like we are. I'll focus on this little piece of it here.
Cheers!
